Version Control

Written by Judy Ann Vargas

Every draft of every file you upload - whether it is a PDF, Microsoft Word document, Excel spreadsheet, image, or presentation - remains automatically logged in your version history. This ensures you can easily track changes, review past revisions, or revert to an earlier state without losing progress or cluttering your workspace with duplicate files.

How to Manage Versions

Version control applies universally across all file types. To view or manage versions:

  1. Click the version chip next to the file name to open the Version History menu.

  2. Click the three-dot icon beside any version to access these actions:

    • Preview: Opens the file in read-only mode.

    • Download: Saves a local copy to your computer.

    • Make Current Version: Restores an older file as the live, active version.

    • Delete Version: Removes the selected version permanently.

⚠️ Warning: Deleting a version cannot be undone. We recommend previewing the file first before permanently removing it.

Uploading External Edits

If you make edits to a file outside of the system (such as using an offline desktop application like Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or Photoshop), you can seamlessly keep your version history up to date:

  1. Open the Version History window by clicking the version chip next to the file name.

  2. Click Upload New Version at the bottom of the window.

  3. Select your updated file from your computer.

The newly uploaded file will automatically attach as the latest version in the existing thread, keeping all previous versions organized in one central location.
