Four skills that turn Claude into a working co-pilot for your Prodeal deal rooms. They read your live checklist data, tell you where deals stand, chase the people holding things up, and give you a prioritized plan for the day.
What's a skill? A saved playbook you hand to Claude once, so you never explain the same task twice. Install prodeal-retriever and just say "retrieve," and Claude runs the whole workflow the same way every time, using your live Prodeal data. The four below were built by Prodeal; installing one is a download and a click.
Important: These skills connect through Prodeal's MCP server and may request read and write access to your deal rooms. Before installing, review the permissions, test in a demo room, and follow your company's security and IT policies. Provided as-is, without warranty; Prodeal is not responsible for actions Claude takes once a skill is installed and permissions are granted.
Before you start: connect Prodeal to Claude
These skills only work if Claude can see your Prodeal rooms. Follow the steps here to connect Prodeal as an MCP connector inside Claude: Connecting Prodeal to Claude.
Installing the skills
A note before you begin: always check with your company's security policies and IT procedures before installing third-party skills or connectors. Some organizations require IT review or specific approval, and Skills need to be enabled by your organization admin for Prodeal.
Assuming Skills are enabled and approved at your organization, here's the high-level flow:
Confirm prerequisites in Claude. Code execution and file creation must be turned on, and Skills must be enabled, either at the organization level (Team / Enterprise plans, managed by your owner) or in your individual settings (Free / Pro / Max plans).
Download the four Prodeal skills. Click here to Download the Skills Files for all four Prodeal skills.
Upload each skill to Claude. In Claude, go to Customize → Skills, click the + button, choose Upload a skill, and upload each file. For detailed screenshots and edge cases, see Claude's own guide: How to install a skill in Claude.
Toggle each skill on. After upload, each skill appears in your Skills list. Use the toggle to enable it.
Test it. Open a new Claude chat, type /prodeal, and pick one of the four, or just ask a natural-language question like "what's overdue in room 49745?"
After installing: typing /prodeal in any Claude chat surfaces the four skills as slash-command options, or you can describe what you want in plain English. Either works. The skill fires as soon as Claude recognizes the intent.
The Skills
1. prodeal-closing-snapshot
What it does. Produces a one-screen readiness report on a deal room: overall completion percentage, section-by-section breakdown, what's due in the next seven days, the oldest items sitting untouched, and a plain-language read of whether the deal is on track, at risk, or stalled.
Why to use it. When you want to answer "where does this deal stand?" in under a minute. Good before an internal check-in, a call with a counterparty, or the Monday-morning triage of every room you're running.
How to trigger it. Paste a room link and ask "where do we stand?", or say any of:
prodeal-closing-snapshot 49745"closing snapshot for room 49745"
"how's deal 49745 going?"
"is this deal on track to close?"
2. prodeal-retriever
What it does. Finds every overdue item in a deal room, looks up who's assigned to each, and drafts grouped follow-up emails: one per recipient covering everything they owe, in both a friendly and a firm version. Also flags assignment gaps like items owned by teams with zero members.
Why to use it. When something is late and you need to chase without spending half an hour writing emails. Retriever consolidates by recipient so nobody gets five different pings for five different items.
How to trigger it. Say any of:
prodeal-retriever 49745"retrieve"
"what's overdue in room 49745?"
"follow up on the late items"
"who owes what on this deal?"
If nothing is overdue, Retriever will say so and stop. It won't manufacture urgency.
3. prodeal-ownership-audit
What it does. Scans a room for the quiet deal-killers: open items with no assigned owner, items owned only by an empty team ("ghost-owned"), and ghost teams that have zero members. Returns a report with concrete fixes ("invite [person] to [team]", "reassign [item]").
Why to use it. At deal kickoff to catch access gaps before they cost you time, and again mid-deal when things feel stuck for no clear reason. The most common finding is a real item routed to a team nobody was ever added to. Impossible to spot from the checklist view, obvious once audited.
How to trigger it. Say any of:
prodeal-ownership-audit 49745"ownership audit for room 49745"
"who owns what on this deal?"
"is anything falling through the cracks?"
"are there any empty teams in this room?"
4. prodeal-todays-list
What it does. Gives you a short, ranked action list for a specific deal room (what to send, what to unblock, what to reconcile), ordered by impact on closing. Scans for eight signals (overdue items, deadline compression, unstarted vendor-dependent sections, unscoped new work, status hygiene issues, ownership gaps, long-stuck items, loose ends), then presents 3-6 concrete actions with a one-line why and a next step for each. If overdue items exist, it runs the full Retriever workflow inline as action #1 rather than handing you off.
Why to use it. First thing in the morning, or any time you're staring at a deal room wondering where to start. It's the difference between "monitor progress" and "email these four people, order the KYC, reconcile the section status, and scope the three new sections."
How to trigger it. Say any of:
prodeal-todays-list 49745"today's list for room 49745"
"what should I do today on this deal?"
"give me today's priorities"
If the room is genuinely on track, it will say so and offer a shorter list of optional improvements rather than padding the plan.
How they work together
The four skills are designed to be used individually (pick the one that fits the question you're asking), but they also chain naturally:
prodeal-closing-snapshot tells you where the deal stands.
prodeal-ownership-audit tells you whether the checklist can even function (empty teams, missing owners).
prodeal-retriever tells you who to chase about the late stuff, and drafts the emails.
prodeal-todays-list rolls all of the above into what to do next, ranked by leverage.
Most people start with prodeal-todays-list daily and reach for the other three when they want more depth on a specific dimension.
Troubleshooting
"Claude says the Prodeal tools aren't available." The connector isn't turned on for this conversation. Open the connectors menu in the chat and toggle Prodeal on, or reconnect it in Settings → Connectors. If you haven't set it up at all, follow Connecting Prodeal to Claude.
"Claude asked me for a room ID even though I pasted a URL." The URL contains the ID —
https://app.prodeal360.com/rooms/49745/items→49745. You can paste either."Claude tried to make a change but got a permission error." Your Prodeal connector is in read-only mode. All four skills work fine read-only for reports and drafts; to let Claude update due dates, invite users, or add notes, ask your Prodeal administrator to enable write access on the connector.
"The skill fired but the room name looks wrong." All four skills pull the room name from the rooms list, not from documents inside the room — so a document titled "MVC Hillside 25 Takedown" inside room 49745 ("1A - Demo Deal") won't confuse them. If you see the wrong name, double-check the room ID.
Have an idea for another skill?
These four cover the workflows we hear most often, but every team runs deals a little differently. If there's a recurring task in your day that could be a skill — a report format you always build, a review checklist you always run, a specific type of email you always send — we'd love to get on a call and build it with you. Reach out to your Prodeal contact or email us and we'll set up a working session.
